Jan 24PUBLIC NOTICE EMERGENCY SOLUTIONS GRANTS (ESG) PROGRAM On January 1, 2023, the City and County of Honolulu (City) published a Public Notice in the Honolulu Star-Advertiser proposing to reprogram ESG funds to Fiscal Year 2021, 2022, and 2023 projects that could utilize the funds immediately, in order to achieve ESG program goals more efficiently and expediently. Jan 23The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (USDA-APHIS) Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) is making available to the public two draft environmental assessments (EAs) for biological control of invasive weeds in the State of Hawaii. The first EA is titled "Field Release of the Golden Sombermark Butterfly (Euselasia chrysippe (Lepidoptera: Riodinidae)) for the Biological Control of Miconia, Miconia calvescens, (Melastomataceae), in Hawaii". Work hours are 7:00 am. to 3:30 pm., Monday through Friday. The project consists of excavation, pervious pavers, installation of shower and shower pads, drinking fountain, trench drains, catch basin insert with removable sand capture basket, piping, fittings, infiltration chambers and a concrete walkway.
