REAL PROPERTY TAX EXEMPTIONS If you are not currently receiving a home exemption, you may file a claim for the exemption to reduce the real property assessment on your home. To be eligible, you must occupy your property as your principal home. In order for the exemption to be effective in the next year 2021-2022, the claim must be filed by September 30, 2020. POLICY OF NON-DISCRIMINATION The City and County of Honolulu through its Department of Community Services will administer the HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME) and Housing Trust Fund (HTF) Programs in a non-discriminatory manner as required by its Affirmative Marketing Plans. The HOME and HTF Programs provide financial assistance for the rehabilitation and construction of residential housing units. Owners of residential dwellings participating in the HOME Program will also be required to affirmatively market available dwelling units through public advertising, maintain records, and provide fair housing information to applicants and tenants.
