The State of Hawai'i Department of Health, Office of Language Access (OLA), will hold a public hearing to consider the proposed adoption of Hawai'i Administrative Rules chapter 11-220, "Office of Language Access Rules of Practice." These proposed rules establish uniform statewide procedures necessary to implement chapter 321C, Hawai'i Revised Statutes, which requires state agencies and covered entities to provide meaningful access to programs, services, and activities for limited English proficient individuals. The rules address statewide language access planning requirements, an interpreter and translator roster system, compliance monitoring, complaint procedures, and other administrative functions needed for effective implementation.
