Bill 80: Amends Ordinance No. 25-45, as Amended, the Operating Budget for the County of Hawai’i for the Fiscal Year Ending June 30, 2026. Increases revenues in the Federal Grants – Justice Assistance Grant-Special Response Team Capability Enhancement Grant account ($78,491); and appropriates the same to the Justice Assistance Grant-Special Response Team Capability Enhancement account, for a total appropriation of $129,028. Ayes: Council Members Galimba, Hustace, Kagiwada, Kaneali’i-Kleinfelder, Kierkiewicz, Kimball, Onishi, Villegas, and Chair Inaba – 9; Noes: None; Absent: None; Excused: None.
Bill 81: Amends Ordinance No. 25-45, as Amended, the Operating Budget for the County of Hawai’i for the Fiscal Year Ending June 30, 2026. Increases revenues in the Federal Grants – Improve Forensic Services account ($23,640); and appropriates the same to the Improve Forensic Services account, for a total appropriation of $120,000. Ayes: Council Members Galimba, Hustace, Kagiwada, Kaneali’i-Kleinfelder, Kierkiewicz, Kimball, Onishi, Villegas, and Chair Inaba – 9; Noes: None; Absent: None; Excused: None.
Bill 82: Amends Chapter 24, Article 9, of the Hawai’i County Code 1983 (2016 Edition, as Amended), Relating to Pedestrians. Prohibits pedestrians from entering a roadway, obstructing traffic, or approaching moving vehicles for business and employment purposes. Ayes: Council Members Galimba, Hustace, Inaba, Kagiwada, Kaneali’i-Kleinfelder, Kierkiewicz, Kimball, Villegas, and Acting Chair Onishi – 9; Noes: None; Absent: None; Excused: None.
