YOU ARE HEREBY NOTIFIED that the State of Hawai’i, by its Attorney General, the Plaintiff herein, has commenced proceedings in eminent domain against you in the above-entitled Court, Civil No. 1CCV-25-0000246, and has prayed that this Court vest in the Plaintiff the temporary, exclusive use and occupancy of: Parcel C-9, a .091 acre or 3,944 square foot portion of TMK (1)5-5-013-080; and Parcel C-13, a .009 acre or 409 square foot portion of said TMK (1) 5-5-013-080, both being portions of Royal Patent 922, Land Commission Award No. 3714, Apana 4 to Maii situated at Laie, District of Koolauloa, City and County of Honolulu, State of Hawai’i as more fully described in the Complaint filed herein, by final order of condemnation for the construction, preservation, and protection of a public highway, to wit: Kamehameha Highway, Laieloa Stream Bridge Replacement, Federal Aid Project No. BR-083-1(58), at Laie, Koolauloa, Island of O’ahu, Hawai’i.
YOU ARE HEREBY SUMMONED and required to appear in the courtroom of the Honorable STEVEN R. NICHOLS, on the 5th Floor at 1111 Alakea St., Honolulu, Hawaii, on the 24th day of July, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. of said day, or to file an answer or other pleading and serve it before said day upon Plaintiff’s attorneys, Ryan W. Roylo and Stuart N. Fujioka, Deputy Attorneys General, whose address is 820 Mililani Street, Suite 720, Honolulu, Hawaii 96813. If you fail to do so, judgment by default will be taken against you for the relief demanded in the Complaint.
