NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN of public hearings to be held by the Department of Planning and Permitting of the City and County of Honolulu under Special Management Area (SMA) Ordinance, Revised Ordinances of Honolulu Chapter 25, as amended, for the following applications at the date and time specified or soon thereafter.

PROJECT: Waimea Valley Economic Resiliency

REQUEST: SMA Use Permit to allow for phased improvements valued above $500,000 within the Special Management Area. Proposed work include renovation and expansion of the visitor center, reconstruction of the community resource center, installation of a rockwall fence, expansion of the existing pavilion, construction of a new traditional Hawaiian hale, upgrade of the onsite sewage treatment plant and water system, installation of a new off-site fire hydrant and rockwall mitigation and erosion control as-needed.

REQUEST: SMA Use Permit to allow the construction of two new detached single-family dwellings, new retaining walls, and septic system, located on a shoreline lot.

Attendance at the public hearing is not necessary to submit testimony. Written testimony should be received by the close of the public hearing on Wednesday, December 4, 2024. Testimony to the Department prior to the hearing will be considered in the evaluation of the request.
