PUBLIC NOTICE
VIDEO MONITORING FOR THE
ALA MOANA REGIONAL PARK
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN pursuant to Section 2-32.3(b)(5), Revised Ordinances of Honolulu that the City and County of Honolulu (City) will be installing video surveillance cameras to monitor Ala Moana Regional Park. These cameras will be employed for the general prevention and deterrence of criminal activity and to ensure the safety and security of the public and community we serve. The infrared video surveillance cameras will be used to achieve legitimate law enforcement objectives for legitimate public purposes. The infrared video surveillance cameras will begin operating and recording 10 calendar days after publication of this legal notice.
The General Public may submit written comments on the video monitoring to the City Council and the Department of Facility Maintenance at the following addresses:

CAMERA LOCATIONS AT ALA MOANA REGIONAL PARK
A total of 25 surveillance cameras will be installed along Ala Moana Beach Road and walking paths within Ala Moana Regional Park. A total of 20 surveillance cameras will be installed on the light poles along Ala Moana Beach Road and the light poles along the walking path of ‘Aina Moana, also known as Magic Island; and 5 surveillance cameras on the perimeter of the building located Ewa side of the ‘Aina Moana parking lot, along Ala Moana Beach Road. All cameras will operate continuously. The fixed-position, infrared surveillance cameras will monitor the walking paths and adjacent areas along Ala Moana Beach Road and ‘Aina Moana and first responders will monitor.
