Notice to interested parties is hereby given of the Federal Highway Administration and the County of Hawaii Department of Public Works proposed Kilauea Avenue Safe Routes to School Project at Waiakea Ahupua’a, Hilo District, Island of Hawai’i. The proposed project area is along the road shoulders of an approximately 1.7-mile segment of Kilauea Avenue between Ohea Street and Haihai Street. Native Hawaiian Organizations and Native Hawaiian descendants with ancestral, lineal, or cultural ties to, cultural knowledge or concerns for, and cultural or religious attachment to the proposed project area are asked to provide a response within 30 days of notification. Individuals with information pertaining to the proposed project area should contact Ms. Lesley Iaukea ([808] 692-8023, Leslie.Iaukea@hawaii.gov) within thirty days of this notice.
