Pursuant to Section 6-1803 of the Revised Charter of the City & County of Honolulu 1973 (Amended 2017 Edition) and Section 28-3.4 of the Revised Ordinances of the City & County of Honolulu, the Director of the Department of Land Management is to conduct a public hearing to determine whether a transaction or activity relating to City real property serves the public interest. Public Notice is hereby provided for the following proposed transaction affecting City real property:
Property: 1331 River Street Honolulu, Hawaii 96817, Tax Map Key: (1) 1-7-006:012;
Area: 26,925 square feet
Proposed Transaction: Lease of City real property to a private developer to serve the public interest by providing affordable housing in Downtown/Chinatown, serving individuals and families that are at or below 80% Area Median Income. The proposed project will include a 17-story building with 156 units along with 51 parking stalls. The project will also include a social activities center and a commercial space open to the public, but will be restricted to serve the community. There is no lease rent for the affordable residential units, and the social activities center and commercial space will be offered at nominal lease rent, each for 65 years with an option to extend an additional 10 years.
