NOTICE FOR LOTTERIES FOR
PUBLICATION DISPENSING RACK SPACES
THROUGHOUT THE WAIKIKI SPECIAL DISTRICT

In accordance with the Revised Ordinances of Honolulu, the Department of Customer Services will be conducting supplemental lotteries for the vacant publication dispensing rack spaces throughout the Waikiki Special District. The lotteries will be held as follows:

DATE: Tuesday, May 14, 2019

TIMES: 12-INCH SPACE LOTTERY:
8:30 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. – Sign-in
(Publishers must check in by 9:00 a.m. to participate in the lottery.)
9:00 a.m. – Lottery begins

24-INCH SPACE LOTTERY:
12:30 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. – Sign-in
(Publishers must check in by 1:00 p.m. to participate in the lottery.)
1:00 p.m. – Lottery begins

Only vacant spaces in all of the publication dispensing rack enclosures will be offered at these lotteries. Permits will be valid from July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2020. The fee will be $148.00 per space per publication for the remaining 12 months of the three-year permit period. All payments for the spaces selected at the lottery will be due by June 7, 2019.

IMPORTANT: In order to participate in the lottery, all publishers or interested persons are required to register by completing and submitting an application form, required supporting documents, and the $50.00 non-refundable application fee for each publication postmarked no later than May 1, 2019. Applications that are postmarked after May 1, 2019 will be returned and the applicant will not be allowed to participate in this supplemental lottery. Registration will not be allowed on the day of the lottery. Each applicant must declare on the application form whether they will participate in the 12-inch or 24-inch space lottery, but not both.
