NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
APPLICATION OF HAWAIIAN ELECTRIC COMPANY, INC.,
FOR APPROVAL TO CONSTRUCT AN ABOVE GROUND 46 KV LINE EXTENSION

The STATE OF HAWAII PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION ("Commission"), pursuant to Hawaii Revised Statutes (“HRS”) §§ 269-27.5 and 269-27.6(a), HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that it will hold a public hearing on Oahu relating to the Application of Hawaiian Electric Company, Inc. (“Hawaiian Electric”) filed on December 19, 2025, regarding the extension of a 46 kV overhead line as noted below and described in the Application. The public hearing will be held as follows:

Hawaiian Electric is a public utility that provides electricity service to the island of O’ahu. On December 19, 2025, Hawaiian Electric filed an Application requesting that the Commission approve the Amended and Restated Power Purchase Agreement for Renewable Dispatchable Generation (“A&R PPA”), by and between Hawaiian Electric and Pu’uloa Solar LLC (“Seller”), relating to the 6-megawatt (“MW”) photovoltaic project paired with a battery energy storage system (“Project”). As part of the Project, Hawaiian Electric proposes to construct a 46 kV sub-transmission line extension above the surface of the ground to interconnect the Project to Hawaiian Electric’s system. The proposed overhead line extension will span approximately 70 feet south of the Project’s substation, on land owned by Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam.
The Commission will hold a public hearing on March 9, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. to allow interested persons to state their views on the proposed 46 kV overhead line extension.
The foregoing is a brief summary of the proposed overhead line extension and Hawaiian Electric’s related requests. Copies of the Application are available for public review through the Commission’s electronic Case and Document Management System, which can be accessed at https://hpuc.my.site.com/cdms/s/search after typing “2025-0436” in the search field. All interested persons are invited to attend the public hearing to state their views on Hawaiian Electric’s proposed Project. All written statements should reference Docket No. 2025-0436. All interested persons are invited to attend the public hearing to state their views on Hawaiian Electric’s Application.
