NOTICE OF SALE
SALE OF USED EQUIPMENT AND VEHICLES
The County of Hawai’i will accept sealed
bids of used equipment and vehicles sold AS IS
and WHERE IS. The County issues NO
WARRANTY and will close bids on Tuesday,
February 24, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. in the
Treasury Division Office of the County Building,
located at 25 Aupuni Street, Suite #1102, Hilo,
Hawai’i.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SALE:
The items offered for sale will be sold “AS IS” and “WHERE IS” and the County issues NO WARRANTY to the highest bidder. Items listed as “Junked Vehicles” are FOR PARTS ONLY and that no new title will be given. Bidders must deposit twenty five percent (25%) of the bid price in cash or draft drawn on a financial institution (cashier’s check, traveler’s check, money order) payable to the Director of Finance, County of Hawai’i, with their sealed bid. Personal checks and/or debit/credit cards will NOT be accepted for the deposit payment. Bids must be at or above the upset price and will be accepted in whole dollars only. Bid results will be posted on Thursday, February 26, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. Successful bidders will be notified by telephone and must pay the outstanding balance and remove all auction items within seven (7) days by 2:30 p.m. on Friday, March 6, 2026, or forfeit their deposit. Payment of the outstanding balance and transfer of title may be arranged by contacting the Department of Finance, Property Management Division at (808) 961-8009. Any bidder defaulting on the payment will be rejected and the next highest bidder will be awarded the bid. Bid deposits of unsuccessful bids will be available in the Treasury Division Office of the County Building, located at 25 Aupuni Street, Suite #1102, Hilo, Hawai’i. Items are located at the following locations and numbered as it’s listed. Items may be viewed during the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., from February 17th to February 23rd at the following locations:
Makalei Fire Station – 72-4077 Mamalahoa Highway, Kailua-Kona,
Hawai’i
DEM Lot – Hoolaulima Road, .5 miles past the entrance to the Hilo Green
Waste Site on the left
Fire Mechanic Shop – 95 Keaa Street, Hilo, Hawaii
REMOVAL DATE: On or before March 6, 2026. Auction items must be removed during normal business hours Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and to a designated location, not on any public/private roads, parking lots, etc.
