NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN of an agency hearing with a public hearing and an opportunity for public testimony from all interested persons to be held by the Kaua’i Planning Commission pursuant to the provisions of Special Management Area Rules, Kauai County Code, Chapter 8, as amended, Hawaii Revised Statutes (HRS) Chapter 92 and 91, and the Rules of Practice and Procedure of the County of Kauai Planning Commission. Request: Amendment to the West Kauai Community Plan (WKCP), Waimea Town Walkable Mixed Use District Map (SPA-L) from T4 Village Neighborhood Flex – West Kaua’i “T4VN/F-WK” to T4 Village Center Flex – West Kaua’i “T4VC/F-WK” designation.
Location: Waimea, Kaua’i. Located immediately west and adjacent to the Waimea Hawaiian Church, situated along the makai side of Kaumuali’i Highway in Waimea Town, approximately 80 feet east of the Moana Road/Kaumuali’i Highway intersection, further identified as 1-9814 Kaumuali’i Highway containing a total area of 6,799 square feet.

CLASS IV ZONING PERMIT (Z-IV-2027-2), PROJECT DEVELOPMENT USE PERMIT (PDU-2027-1) to allow construction of an affordable residential housing project containing sixty (60) multi-family units, community building, and associated site improvements, and VARIANCE PERMIT (V-2027-1) to deviate from Section 8-10.2 of the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance (CZO) relating to lands that qualify for a Project Development, involving a parcel situated along the makai side of the Kaumualii Highway in Puhi, situated immediately west of its intersection with Nani Street, further identified as Tax Map Key: (4) 3-3-004:020 and containing a total area of 2.5169 acres.
