HONOLULU BOARD OF WATER SUPPLY, WATERLINE REPLACEMENT PROJECT

NATIONAL HISTORIC PRESERVATION ACT SECTION 106 – REQUEST FOR COMMENTS

PROJECT NAME: Lower Mariners Ridge Water System Improvements

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

The Honolulu Board of Water Supply is proposing installation of approximately 9,556 linear feet of new water mains and appurtenances including inactivation and partial demolition of existing water mains and appurtenances in the Hawai’i Kai area. The purpose of this project is to reduce occurence of main breaks and improve water system reliability. All construction work will be within existing roadway right-of-way (refer to the map below). The installation work will require use of heavy construction equipment to create an open trench in the roadway approximately 2 to 7.5-feet wide and 3 to 14-feet deep.
