- PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
- The Honolulu Board of Water Supply (BWS) is proposing the installation of approximately 1,100 linear feet of new water line in the ‘Aiea area, as well as the inactivation and demolition of existing water lines. The purpose of the project is to reduce main breaks and improve water system reliability. This work will require the use of heavy construction equipment to excavate trenches averaging 2 feet wide and 5 feet deep. All construction work will be within existing road right-of-ways. (See attached map for locations.)

- POTENTIAL HISTORIC RESOURCES:
- An Archaeological Literature Review and Field Inspection Report was requested to determine whether historic properties exist in the proposed project area. The report was also used to support the project’s historic preservation review process under Hawai’i Revised Statutes (HRS) Chapter 6E. Based on the results of the LRFI, no further archaeological investigations or mitigation measures are recommended. The project is awaiting final review by the State Historic Preservation Division.
