NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED LAND USE WITHIN THE CONSERVATION DISTRICT
The Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR), State of Hawai’i, pursuant to Section 13-5-40, Hawai’i Administrative Rules (HAR), will hold a public hearing in Waialua, County of Honolulu on:
Thursday, September 25, 2025 at 6pm
at the Waialua Elementary School Cafeteria located at 67-020 Waialua Beach Road, Waialua, HI 96791
to receive testimony on Conservation District Use Application (CDUA) OA-3985 for Waimea Valley Economic Resiliency Project located at 59-864 Kamehameha Highway, Waimea, Waialua, O’ahu, Tax Map Key: (1) 6-1-002:002 & 005.
A copy of the CDUA is available for inspection at: The Office of Conservation and Coastal Lands, located at the Kalanimoku Building Room 131, 1151 Punchbowl Street in Honolulu, at the Waialua State Library and online at the Office of Conservation and Coastal Lands website at https://dlnr.hawaii.gov/occl/current-applications/.
Any person may testify or present information on the application. Written testimony can be mailed to P.O. Box 621 Honolulu, Hawai’i 96809 or to 1151 Punchbowl Street, Room 131 Honolulu, Hawai’i 96813 or by email to trevor.j.fitzpatrick@hawaii.gov.
Disabled individuals planning to attend the hearing are asked to contact Trevor Fitzpatrick of the DLNR’s Office of Conservation and Coastal Lands at (808) 587-0378 or trevor.j.fitzpatrick@hawaii.gov at least five days in advance of the public hearing to indicate if they have special needs which require accommodations. If a response is received after this, we will try to obtain the auxiliary aid/service or accommodation, but we cannot guarantee that the request will be fulfilled.
