PUBLIC HEARING

The items listed below have been published in anticipation of the actions to be taken by the City Council Standing Committees; and therefore, the City Council may or may not take action on the items or any amendments proposed thereto.
1. Bill 33 – and any amendments proposed thereto by the Committee on Zoning – Relating to administrative enforcement. (Amending the administrative enforcement provisions for violation of the standards and requirements of the Land Use Ordinance.)
2. Bill 41 – and any amendments proposed thereto by the Committee on Budget – Relating to permit fees. (Addressing certain obsolete or unnecessary provisions relating to permit fees.)
3. Bill 42 – and any amendments proposed thereto by the Committee on Planning, Infrastructure & Transportation – Relating to taxicabs. (Addressing the regulation of taxicabs and taxicab companies.)
4. Bill 43 – and any amendments proposed thereto by the Committee on Executive Management – Relating to the transient accommodations tax. (Addressing the transient accommodations tax.)
Remote and in-person oral testimony will be permitted on all items on the agenda when each agenda item is taken up. Each speaker may not have anyone else read their statement and is limited to:
A three-minute presentation on Public Hearing and New Business items; and
A one minute presentation on all other items.
As both English and Hawaiian are official languages of the State of Hawai’i, pursuant to Article XV, Section 4 of the Hawai’i State Constitution and Section 1-13 of the Hawai’i Revised Statutes, members of the public may testify in either language. For oral testimonies offered in ‘Olelo Hawai’i, additional time as may be necessary will be allowed for the testifier to provide an English translation of their testimony.

Although remote oral testimony is being permitted, this is a regular meeting and not a remote meeting by interactive conference technology under HRS Section 92-3.7. Therefore, the meeting will continue notwithstanding loss of audiovisual communication with remote testifiers or loss of the public broadcast of the meeting.
Persons wishing to testify in-person in the Council Chamber are requested to register by 10 a.m. by filling out the registration form in person outside the Council Chamber. Persons who have not registered will be given an opportunity to speak following the oral testimonies of the registered speakers.
