HONOLULU BOARD OF WATER SUPPLY, WATERLINE REPLACEMENT PROJECT
NATIONAL HISTORIC PRESERVATION ACT SECTION 106 – REQUEST FOR COMMENTS
PROJECT NAME: MAILIILII Road: 20-INCH WATER MAIN, PAAKEA ROAD TO LUALUALEI
HOMESTEAD ROAD
ISLAND: OAHU MOKU: WAI’ANAE AHUPUA’A: WAI’ANAE
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The Honolulu Board of Water Supply is proposing the installation of 3,636 feet of new waterline and fire
hydrants along Mailiilii Road in the Wai’anae area. The purpose of the project is to reduce main breaks
and improve water system reliability. Work will require the use of heavy construction equipment to create
a trench averaging 2 feet wide and 5 feet deep. All construction work will be within the existing right-of-way.

In this letter of October 12, 2023, the State Historic Preservation Division determined that no historic
properties would be affected by this project, If you have concerns about this project affecting historic

notice.
