PROJECT NAME: Kualaka’i Parkway 16 Inch R-1 Transmission Main and East Kapolei 215′ 3.0 MG R-1 Reservoir Project

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Honolulu Board of Water Supply (BWS) is proposing the construction of a new recycled water (R-1) reservoir and appurtenances (Component 1), and the installation of a new 16-inch R-1 transmission main along a portion of Farrington Highway from the access road of the existing East Kapolei 215′ Reservoir to Kualaka’i Parkway, and along a portion of Kualaka’i Parkway from Farrington Highway to Kapolei Parkway (Component 2). Proposed ground disturbing activities include excavation for water mains and appurtenances, geotechnical borings, as well as grading and excavation for the construction of the R-1 reservoir.
PROPOSED PROJECT AREA OF POTENTIAL EFFECT: Approximately 77.8 acres within a portion of Tax Map Key [1] 9-1-017:096, a portion of Tax Map Key [1] 9-1-018:008, Kualaka’i Parkway Right-of-Way and Farrington Highway Right-of Way.
POTENTIAL HISTORIC RESOURCES: The State Historic Preservation Division’s letters dated April 6, 2018 and September 11, 2023 have determined that no historic properties affected by this project. In addition, no work is anticipated beyond previously disturbed areas.
