DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
NOTICE OF SOLICITATION OF COMMENTS
STATEWIDE TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM (STIP)
FEDERAL FISCAL YEARS 2022 to 2025 (+2)
REVISION #21
The Hawaii Department of Transportation is providing an opportunity for the public to submit comments on the proposed STIP Revision #21, an amendment, to the Federal Fiscal Years (FFY) 2022 to 2025 (+2) Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP). The STIP document identifies projects that are to be programmed for federal Highway or Transit funding.
The purpose of this revision is to address major changes to FHWA and FTA funded projects due to changes in purpose and need, shifts in project schedules, priorities, and significant cost estimate increases or decreases that occurred through the project development process. Some projects will be added to, and others deferred out of the STIP due to these changes. Other scheduling changes or funding restructuring were also necessary to fiscally balance the aforementioned changes.
Proposed STIP Revision #21 and new project information can be found on our HDOT STIP website at: http://hidot.hawaii.gov/highways/other/other-related-links/stip/.
There are no amendments to the Oahu portion of the STIP. Please see more information on the TIP process and TIP Revisions at the Oahu MPO website at: http://www.oahumpo.org/plans-and-programs/transportation-improvement-program-tip/
Amendments to the Maui island portion of the STIP are concurrently being processed in parallel as Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) revisions by the Maui Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO).
