PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN of a public hearing to be held by the Department of Planning and Permitting of the City and County of Honolulu under Special Management Area (SMA) Ordinance, Chapter 25, Revised Ordinances of Honolulu, as amended, for the following application at the date and time specified or soon thereafter.

Request: Special Management Area (SMA) Use Permit and a Shoreline Setback Variance (SV) to allow upgrades to the wastewater disposal system. The proposed project includes installation of two onsite injection wells and associated appurtenances, equipment for disposal of Waikiki Aquarium (WAq) exhibit wastewater, the construction of three housing structures for new equipment, upgrading the existing piping, and miscellaneous work. The work will occur within the SMA and within the shoreline setback area.

Attendance at the public hearing is not necessary to submit testimony. Written testimony may be emailed to dpp@honolulu.gov, faxed to (808) 768-6743, or mailed to 650 South King Street, 7th Floor, Honolulu, Hawaii 96813. Written testimony should be received by the close of the public hearing on Thursday,
March 21, 2024. Testimony to the Department prior to the hearing will be considered in the evaluation of the request.
