The City and County of Honolulu (CCH) hereby gives notice to the public of the updated Tax Map Keys (TMK) referenced below. This change has been recorded in the City of County of Honolulu’s real property records and will take effect immediately. The real property tax bill for the 2023-2024 tax year, scheduled for January 2024, will also reflect this change. The 2024-2025 Notice of Assessment, expected to arrive around December 15, 2023, will show the updated tax map key.
It is necessary to update the real property records to maintain the accuracy of its real property identification system, which are for real property tax purposes. CCH understands that various other documents may also make reference to real property records. To ensure the accuracy of documents like wills, trusts, or mortgages, it may be necessary to reach out to any parties holding official documents that reference the previous TMK. Consideration should also be given to informing lending institutions about the change to address any related documentation.
A notice was mailed to individual property owners on December 8, 2023.
