COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM

Pursuant to the City and County of Honolulu’s (City) Citizen Participation Plan, the proposed reprogramming of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds is provided for your information. The City desires to reprogram CDBG funds from prior year projects and appropriate CDBG funds to a project that can utilize the funds immediately, in order to achieve CDBG program goals more efficiently and expediently. The proposed revisions to the following Fiscal Year projects are provided for your information and use.

REDUCTION OF $800,000
Honolulu Fire Department – Nanakuli Tanker Apparatus
Project Description: Acquisition of a tanker apparatus for the Nanakuli Fire Station.
Funding Source: FY 2023 CDBG
Proposed Amount: $0 (originally $800,000)

Department of Parks and Recreation – Resurfacing of Parking Lots
Project Description: Resurfacing of parking lots including, but not limited to asphalt removal and new overlay, restriping, and the installation of bollards, tire stops, gates, fencing, directional signage, and signage marking for handicapped accessibility at eligible public parks.
Funding Source: FY 2021 and 2023 CDBG
Proposed Amount: $1,600,000 (originally $0)
