Bill 59: Amends Chapter 19, Article 10, Section 19-71, of the Hawai’i County Code 1983 (2016 Edition, as Amended), Relating to Home Exemptions. Amends subsection (d) by adding an age range of 75 years of age or over but not 80 years of age or over for a $110,000 exemption and adding an exemption of $125,000 for taxpayers 80 years of age or over. Ayes: Council Members Evans, Galimba, Inaba, Kagiwada, Kaneali’i-Kleinfelder, Kierkiewicz, Lee Loy, Villegas, and Chair Kimball – 9; Noes: None; Absent: None; Excused: None.

Bill 60: Amends Ordinance No. 23-50, as Amended, the Operating Budget for the County of Hawai’i for the Fiscal Year Ending June 30, 2024. Appropriates revenues in the Federal Grants – Climate Pollution Reduction Grant account ($350,000); and appropriates the same to the Climate Pollution Reduction Grant account. Ayes: Council Members Evans, Galimba, Inaba, Kagiwada, Kaneali’i-Kleinfelder, Kierkiewicz, Lee Loy, Villegas, and Chair Kimball – 9; Noes: None; Absent: None; Excused: None.
