County of Hawai’i
Public Access, Open Space, and Natural Resources Preservation Commission

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the County of Hawai’i Public Access, Open Space, and Natural Resources Preservation Commission (PONC) is reviewing and taking action on proposed amendments to the County of Hawai’i Finance Department Rules of Practice and Procedure of the Hawai’i County Public Access, Open Space, and Natural Resources Preservation Commission in accordance with the provisions of Chapters 91 and 92, Hawai’i Revised Statutes, Section 2-215(h) of the Hawai’i County Code, and PONC’s Rules of Practice and Procedure. PONC is seeking public opinion regarding proposed amendments which seek to conform the Rules of Practice and Procedure with recent County Charter amendments and state statute, clarify meeting frequency, suggestion and grant application submission, and other formatting and grammatical changes.

PONC will be conducing a public meeting on Monday, May 8, 2023, at 10:00 a.m., at the West Hawai’i Civic Center, 74 5044 Ane Keohokalole Highway, Building G, Kailua Kona, Hawai’i.

Submitting Testimony
PONC encourages the public to submit thoughts, comments, and input via written testimony. To ensure timely delivery to its members prior to the meeting, testimonies must be submitted no later than 12:00 noon on Thursday, May 4, 2023, by (1) fax to (808) 961-8248; (2) email: ponctestimony@hawaiicounty.gov; or by (3) mail to PONC in Hilo at 25 Aupuni Street, Suite 1101, Hilo, Hawai’i, 96720.

The proposed amendment may be reviewed at the County of Hawai’i Property Management Division located at the Hawai’i County Building 25 Aupuni Street, Suite 1101, Hilo, Hawai’i during normal business hours. The public may request a copy to be mailed, subject to the payment of copying costs and postage.
