The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) is making available to the public a draft environmental assessment for a proposal to release the biological control agent Phymastichus coffea against the coffee berry borer (Hypothenemus hampei) in Hawaii. Interested persons should request the document, “Field Release of Phymastichus coffea (Hymenoptera:Eulophidae) for the Biological Control of Coffee Berry Borer, Hypothenemus hampei (Coleoptera: Scolytinae), in Hawaii”. Anyone wishing to comment on the draft environmental assessment should submit comments on the website https://www.regulations.gov or send comments to the address shown above by March 16, 2023.
