NOTICE FOR LOTTERIES FOR
PUBLICATION DISPENSING RACK SPACES
THROUGHOUT THE WAIKIKI SPECIAL DISTRICT

In accordance with the Revised Ordinances of Honolulu, the Department of Customer Services will be conducting supplemental lotteries for the vacant publication dispensing rack spaces throughout the Waikiki Special District. The lotteries will be held as follows:

DATE: Tuesday, November 15, 2022

LOCATION: *Kapalama Hale
925 Dillingham Boulevard
2nd Floor Meeting Room (#277)
Honolulu, Hawaii 96817

*Valid photo identification will be required to enter the building.

TIMES: 12-INCH SPACE LOTTERY:
8:30 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. – Sign-in
(Publishers must check in by 9:00 a.m. to participate in the lottery.)
9:00 a.m. – Lottery begins

24-INCH SPACE LOTTERY:
12:30 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. – Sign-in
(Publishers must check in by 1:00 p.m. to participate in
the lottery.)
1:00 p.m. – Lottery begins

NOTE: A limit of two (2) persons per publisher will be allowed at either lottery due to the room capacity. Although face coverings are no longer required, we recommend all participants to wear face masks and social distancing measures will be implemented.

Only vacant spaces in all of the publication dispensing rack enclosures will be offered at these lotteries. Permits will be valid from January 1, 2023 to June 30, 2024. The fee will be $222.00 per space per publication for the remaining 18 months of the three-year permit period. All payments for the spaces selected at the lottery will be due by December 16, 2022.

IMPORTANT: In order to participate in the lottery, all publishers or interested persons are required to register by completing and submitting an application form, required supporting documents, and the $50.00 non-refundable application fee for each publication postmarked no later than November 1, 2022. Applications that are postmarked after November 1, 2022 will be returned and the applicant will not be allowed to participate in this supplemental lottery. Registration will not be allowed on the day of the lottery. Each applicant must declare on the application form whether they will participate in the 12-inch or
24-inch space lottery, but not both.
