County of Kaua’i To All Interested Agencies, Groups & Persons: Pursuant to 24 CFR Part 91, notice is hereby given that the Kaua’i County Housing Agency will hold in-person and virtual public meetings in preparation for the fourth program year of the Consolidated Plan 2020-2025 (CP) and Annual Action Plan 2023 (AAP), Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program, HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME) Program, and Housing Trust Fund (HTF) Program. The Housing Agency anticipates receiving federal grant funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Public meetings will be held to discuss the use of federal grant funds for community needs, and receive public comment and input. Following the virtual public meeting, a CDBG informational webinar will be held to provide information on how to apply for funding. The County of Kaua’i will hold combined in-person and virtual meetings with the State Hawai’i Housing Finance and Development Corporation (HHFDC) on: Monday, October 10, 2022 at 3:00 pm – (in-person) Kapa’a Neighborhood Center – 4491 Kou Street, Kapa’a (County) Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at 2:00 pm (virtual) (County & HHFDC) Monday, October 17, 2022 at 10:00 am (in-person) Mo’ikeha Building, Meeting Room 3 – 4444 Rice Street, Lihu’e (County & HHFDC) Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at 3:00 pm (in-person) Waimea Connectivity information to attend the virtual meeting and webinar is on the County’s website: https://www.kauai.gov/Housing. The purpose of the CP and the AAP is to ensure that jurisdictions receiving federal assistance plan for housing and community development related needs in a way that improves availability and affordability of decent, safe, and sanitary housing and creates economic opportunities for low- to moderate-income families in our community. The CP focuses on three areas of concern: housing, homelessness, and community development. To receive funds made available under certain HUD programs, the County and State must have a housing strategy and CP that has been approved by HUD. Documents, materials and information on how to apply for CDBG funding will be available at the meeting and posted on the Housing Agency’s website at: https://www.kauai.gov/Government/Departments-Agencies/Housing-Agency/Housing-Community-Development/Community-Development-Block-Grant-Program-CDBG Interested persons are invited to attend in-person or virtual public meetings and provide comments. All comments received by November 28, 2022 will be considered in preparing the AAP 2023. Closed captioning services will be provided for the virtual meeting and webinar.
