Salary commensurate w/ training & experience Exempt, non-civil service, full-time, permanent appointment. The primary purpose of this position is to gather statistics and data on the number and needs of persons with disabilities for planning and funding purposes; to establish a network of support for State and County ADA Coordinators; and to monitor legislation affecting the delivery of services to persons with disabilities. EDUCATION: Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in a field relating to human services or rehabilitation counseling. EXPERIENCE: A minimum of two (2) years experience in research, planning, or data analysis and a minimum of two (2) years experience in working with State or County government providing access to programs and services to persons with disabilities. Analyzes legislative proposals for soundness of purpose and need based on existing data; prepares testimony for the Executive Director and the Disability and Communication Access Board on proposals consistent with Board policies and position statements. Updates and maintains the Legislative Digest of Laws and Ordinances Relating to Persons with Disabilities. Special Projects in providing administrative oversight to grants or special projects which are housed at the Disability and Communication Access Board. Serves on community advisory committees to provide input into the development and implementation of programs designed to improve services or enhance access for persons with disabilities in the community.
