COUNTY OF HAWAI’I MASS TRANSIT AGENCY
PUBLIC COMMENT REQUEST OPPORTUNITY – 5310 PROGRAM FUNDS
The notice serves as an opportunity to request a public hearing on a proposed funding request by the County of Hawai’i Mass Transit Agency to the Hawai’i Department of Transportation (HDOT) for Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Section 5310 Enhanced Mobility of Seniors & Individuals with Disabilities grants funding for the following activities:
Low Floor Minivans for microtransit services in Puna and Ka’u Districts (5310)
Low Floor Minivans for rural transit service provided by Hawai’i County Economic Opportunities Council (5310)
Operations Assistance for Hele-On Specialized Transportation Services provided by Hawai’i County Economic Opportunities Council, Brantley Center and Hele-On Kako’o (ARP and CRSSRA)
These projects are not duplicative in nature of other transportation providers providing service on Hawai’i Island.

The proposed application can be viewed at www.heleonbus.org. Written comments may be mailed to the same address above and must be received by June 5, 2022 by 5:00 p.m., HST.
