NOTICE TO BUSINESSES THAT STORE, USE, OR MANUFACTURE ANY HAZARDOUS SUBSTANCES
The Honolulu Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) reminds Oahu businesses and facilities that store, use, or manufacture hazardous substances that an important reporting deadline is approaching. Your facilities may be required to submit a Chemical Inventory Report Form (Tier 2 form) and a $200 filing fee by March 1, 2022. This reporting form addresses a facility’s storage, use, or manufacture of hazardous substances anytime during the 2021 calendar year, in quantities that equal or exceed established reporting thresholds. The information is used for emergency response planning by the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD), the Hawaii Department of Health (HDOH), and the LEPC. Under Hawaii State statutes – Section 128E-6(2) HRS, the Hawaii Emergency Planning and Community Right-To-Know Act (HEPCRA), reporting is required annually by covered facilities. Those who do not report may be subject to substantial monetary penalties.
