City & County of Honolulu

Pursuant to the Revised Charter of the City & County of Honolulu 1973 (2017 Edition), Section 6-1803, the Director of the Department of Land Management is to conduct a public hearing to determine whether a transaction or activity relating to City real property serves a public interest as described in Section 6-1803(2). Public Notice is hereby provided for the following proposed transactions affecting City properties:

Property: Portion of Geiger Road, Lot B-1, Ewa, Oahu, Grant of 3 Perpetual Easements
TMKs: Portions of (1)9-1-013 and 9-1-069 (roadways); Land Area:
34,906 square feet
Requestor: Gentry Homes, Ltd.
Transacting City Department(s): ENV/DTS/DFM

Proposed Transaction: Three Easements for improvements completed within Geiger Road. Easements 1 and 2 with a total area of 31,199 square feet is for irrigation purposes and Easement 3 with a total area of 3,707 square feet is for landscaping, a retaining wall and irrigation purposes. The retaining wall was necessary due to the difference in elevation between the road and existing adjacent residences and the irrigation system was installed to irrigate the roadway planter strips.

Property: Pouhala Marsh, Parcels 1, 4, 5 and 6, Waikele, Oahu, Transfer of Property
TMKs: (1) 9-1-001-002, 006, 021, 022; Land Area: 32 acres
Requestor: State of Hawaii, DLNR
Transacting City Departments: DPR & DFM/ENV

Proposed Transaction: The State of Hawaii, DLNR, Division of Forestry and Wildlife (DOFAW) requested to transfer the parcels for conservation purposes as part of the Pouhala Marsh Wildlife Sanctuary to bring sole ownership and management under DOFAW in order to preserve and protect the natural resources of the properties in perpetuity. DOFAW currently manages, maintains and develops all the parcels in the Sanctuary under a license agreement with the City.
