PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN of public hearings to be held by the Department of Planning and Permitting of the City and County of Honolulu under Special Management Area Ordinance, Chapter 25, R.O.H., as amended, for the following applications at the date and time specified or soon thereafter (please note that R.O.H. Section 25-5.3(b), requiring public hearings to be held in the area in which the development is proposed, is waived under the Governor’s current emergency proclamation):

Pursuant to the Emergency Proclamation Related to the State’s COVID-19 Delta Response issued by Governor David Ige on October 1, 2021, and Mayor Blangiardi’s Proclamation and Emergency Order No. 2021-14, executed on October 8, 2021, specific procedures will be in place during the public hearings to allow public participation in a manner consistent with social distancing practices. The public may participate in the public hearings via the online meeting venue (details below).

REQUEST: Special Management Area (SMA) Use Permit for the Heeia Wastewater Pump Station Improvements: including the pump building expansion, new pumps, piping, valves, ventilation system, switch gear, and the addition of an emergency generator with an under-ground diesel fuel storage tanks, a new parking area and driveway entrance, retaining wall and various associated improvements.

In-person attendance: The City is exercising a good faith effort to provide this option only to members of the public who are unable to attend the meeting via phone or Webex. All in-person attendees and testifiers must wear a mask while on the Mission Memorial premises and must maintain six feet of distance between themselves and others or they will not be allowed in the Conference Room. (See Mayor’s Emergency Order 2020-13. Note: Subject to change.)
