NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Pursuant to Chapter 91, Hawaii Revised Statutes, notice is hereby given that the Hawaii Housing Finance and Development Corporation (HHFDC), Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism, State of Hawaii, will hold a public hearing on Monday, November 8, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at the HHFDC Boardroom, 677 Queen Street, Suite 300, Honolulu, Hawaii, on amendments to and compilation of Chapter 15-306, "General Excise Tax Exemptions Program," Hawaii Administrative Rules (HAR). All are invited to state their views on the proposed rule amendments orally or in writing. Written testimony on these proposed rulemaking actions will be accepted through November 8, 2021 at the following address: HHFDC, Attention: Mavis Masaki, 677 Queen Street, Suite 300, Honolulu, Hawaii 96813; or via email to mavis.m.masaki@hawaii.gov.
Amendments to and compilation of Chapter 15-306, HAR, include adding new definitions of "de minimis non-residential uses," "non de minimis use area," and "non de minimis development cost," for purposes of calculating allowable development, construction, and financing costs eligible for exemption, and other conforming, housekeeping, and technical amendments.
The public hearing will be held in person and via the Internet using Microsoft Teams on November 8, 2021 from 10:30 am to 11:30 am. Interested persons are strongly encouraged to view or download the draft rules electronically for free at the web site:

A paper copy of the proposed rules may be mailed upon receipt of a check made payable to "HHFDC" in the amount of $3.33 for Chapter 15-306 for copying and postage costs.
