PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN of a public hearing to be held by the Department of Planning and Permitting of the City and County of Honolulu under Special Management Area Ordinance, Chapter 25, R.O.H., as amended, for the following application at the date and time specified or soon thereafter:

Pursuant to the Emergency Proclamation Related to the COVID-19 Response issued by Governor David Ige on August 5, 2021, relating to the COVID-19 pandemic (Proclamation), in order to allow public participation in a manner consistent with social distancing practices the following procedures are in effect for the October 15, 2021 meeting. The procedures have been modified to comply with Mayor Rick Blangiardi’s Emergency Order No. 2021-09, effective July 8, 2021, as amended by Emergency Orders No. 2021-10, 2021-11 and 2021-12, effective August 23, August 30 and September 2, 2021, respectively. City staff, attendees and the public may be participating via the online meeting venue. Information on how the public may participate in the meeting is provided below.

Maps showing the general location and boundaries of the area under consideration are on file at the Department of Planning and Permitting, Permit and Zoning Records Access, First Floor, Frank F. Fasi Municipal Building, 650 South King Street, and are available to the public for inspection during office hours, 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. To provide the public with the best opportunity to observe the meeting, it is required to mute your device’s microphone except when to testify to prevent technological difficulties. In-person attendance: The City is exercising a good faith effort to provide this option only to members of the public who are unable to attend the meeting via phone or Webex. Only persons wearing masks that cover the nose and mouth will be allowed in the Mission Memorial Auditorium. All people inside the Mission Memorial Auditorium or waiting outside for a turn to testify must abide by social distancing guidelines and thus maintain six feet of distance between themselves and others and wear face coverings. See Mayor’s Emergency Order 2021-09. Note: Subject to change.

Attendance at the public hearing is not necessary to submit testimony. Written testimonies must be received by 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 14, 2021.
