PUBLIC NOTICE
(Docket No. 21-CA-PA-11)

The Department of Health, State of Hawaii, is notifying all interested persons of the proposed settlement between the Department of Health and Covanta Honolulu Resource Recovery Venture (CHRRV). The Department of Health has issued a Notice and Finding of Violation and Order, in Docket No. 18-CA-EO-03, alleging that CHRRV violated state air pollution laws, HRS §342B-11, HAR §11-60.1-2, and Covered Source Permit Nos. 0255-01-C and 0255-02-C. CHRRV exceeded the total dissolved solids permit limit and failed to keep air pollution controls operational.

A Consent Order has been drafted that proposes to settle this case and other violations. Interested persons may submit written comments on this proposed settlement to the Department of Health within 30 days of this notice. Comments should be sent to the following:
