NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING


Notice is hereby given that the City and County of Honolulu intends to lease City-owned properties for nominal rents to the following lessees for the following purposes:

1. Catholic Charities Hawai’i to provide transitional housing for young adults. The building is located at 1068 Maluna Street, Honolulu, Hawai’i 96818, TMK: 1-1-022: 063. The lease rent will be $100 per month for a five (5) year term.

2. Hale Kipa, Inc. to operate a group home with support services for troubled youth ages 12 to 18. The building is located at 91-1259 Renton Road, ‘Ewa, Hawai’i 96707, TMK: 9-1-126: 006. The lease rent will be $100 per month for a five (5) year term.

3. Steadfast Housing Development Corporation to provide permanent supportive housing through a group home for persons with severe and persistent mental illness. The building is located at 87-699 Manu’u Street, Wai’anae, Hawai’i 96818, TMK: 8-7-024: 030. The lease rent will be $100 per month for a five (5) year term.

4. Wai’anae Coast Community Mental Health Center, Inc. to provide a transitional housing group home for persons with severe mental illness. The building is located at 87-223 Ohiohi Place, Wai’anae, Hawai’i 96792, TMK: 8-7-039: 009. The lease rent will be $100 per month for a ten (10) year term, with a commitment by the lessee to spend at least $25,000 on capital improvements during the term.

In compliance with Section 28-3.5, Revised Ordinances of Honolulu, a public hearing for the leases of City properties will be held as follows:

All interested persons are invited to attend such hearing and to state their views relative to the proposed leases, either orally or in writing. Written comments may be addressed to Sarah Allen, Director of the Department of Community Services, 925 Dillingham Boulevard, Suite 200, Honolulu, Hawai’i 96817. Questions regarding the hearing and proposed leases may be directed to Sarah Allen at the above address or by telephone, at 808-768-7760 on regular business days between 7:45 am and 4:30 pm.
