PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN of a public hearing to be held by the Department of Planning and Permitting of the City and County of Honolulu, under the provisions of Section 6-1517 of the Charter of the City and County of Honolulu, for the following request for a variance of the Land Use Ordinance at the date and time specified or as soon thereafter as those interested may be heard:

Pursuant to Governor David Ige’s Nineteenth Proclamation issued on April 9, 2021, and Mayor Rick Blangiardi’s Emergency Order (EO) 2021-04 effective March 26, 2021, both relating to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the May 20, 2021 meeting will be held remotely to prevent transmission of the virus causing COVID-19. Protecting the health and welfare of the community is of utmost concern. City staff, agents/applicants and the public may participate in the public hearing via the online meeting venue (details below).

Request : To allow the construction of a new 75-foot-tall parking structure and gymnasium building to exceed the maximum height limit of 30 feet, encroach into the 30-foot required front yards, encroach into the height setback, and exceed maximum building area of 50 percent.

In-person attendance: The City is exercising a good faith effort to provide this option only to members of the public who are unable to attend the meeting via phone or Webex. All in-person attendees and testifiers must wear a mask while on the Mission Memorial premises and must maintain six feet of distance between themselves and others or they will not be allowed in the Conference Room. (See Mayor’s Emergency Order 2021- 04. Note: Subject to change.)
Attendance at the public hearing is not necessary to submit testimony. Written testimony may be emailed to info@honoluludpp.org, faxed to 808-768-6743, or mailed to 650 South King Street, 7th Floor, Honolulu, Hawaii 96813. Testimony must be received by 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 19, 2021.
