PUBLIC NOTICE PROGRAM AMENDMENTS TO 2018 and 2020 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM The County of Hawaii’s Office of Housing and Community Development (OHCD) is publishing its draft amendments to the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program to afford affected citizens an opportunity to submit comments. AMENDMENTS TO THE 2018 & 2020 ACTION PLAN In accordance with the County’s approved Citizen Participation Plan, an amendment to the County’s Action Plans requires the publication of a public notice to notify citizens of the draft amendments and its availability for comments during the comment period from April 12, 2021 to May 11, 2021. The OHCD is amending its 2018 and 2020 Action Plan by reprograming $98,502.51 from the cancelled 2020 CDBG Kaiaulu O Waikoloa Rental Housing Offsite Infrastructure Improvements Project and reprogramming a portion of the project funds to the following existing projects for additional funding necessary to complete the projects: 2018 CDBG Project 2018 Hale Maluhia Men’s Shelter $ 2,018.32 Roof and ADA Improvements Design 2018 CDBG Project 2018 Kiheipua Family Shelter $ 4,335.08 Roof and Kitchen Renovations Design 2020 CDBG Project 2020 Kiheipua Family Shelter $ 74,032.52 Certified Kitchen Construction 2020 CDBG Project 2020 Hale Maluhia Emergency Shelter $ 18,116.59 Accessibility Improvements Total $ 98,502.51 The OHCD will consider any comments and views expressed by citizens on the draft amendments, and may modify the amendments, if it deems appropriate.
