PUBLIC NOTICE OF CONTINUANCE OF A MEETING OF THE HONOLULU RATE COMMISSION

The Honolulu Rate Commission is considering recommendations for policies and fare schedules for TheBus and rail transit. An initial proposal was circulated in January-February 2020 and public testimony was received at three public meetings held on March 3 at Kapolei Hale, March 5 at Kailua District Park, and March 10 at Mission Memorial Hearing Room on the grounds of Honolulu Hale.
Decision-making was initially continued to March 17 and then April 6, but both of those meetings were cancelled due to the COVID -19 epidemic given the Mayor’s Emergency Proclamation COVID-19 [Novel Coronavirus] issued on March 4, 2020 and Supplementary Proclamations.
The Rate Commission will continue its deliberations and decision-making at a meeting on
May 12, 2020 from 2:30-4:30 PM. The meeting has been moved from the Mission Memorial Hearing Room to the Mission Memorial Auditorium in order to allow for recommended social distancing.
Public input is still welcome. The meeting agenda and a one-page description of the initial proposal are posted on the Rate Commission calendar at http://www.honolulu.gov/visitors/icalrepeat.detail/2020/05/12/10788/-/rate-commission-further-continunace-meeting.html.
