Department of Land Management
City & County of Honolulu

Pursuant to the Revised Charter of the City & County of Honolulu 1973 (2017 Edition), Section 6-1803, the Director of the Department of Land Management is to conduct a public hearing to determine whether a transaction or activity relating to City real property serves the public interest. Public Notice is hereby provided for the following proposed transaction affecting City property:

Property: Tax Map Key: (1) 9-1-122:002, Ewa Beach, Hawaii 96706; Area: 2.8 acres.

Purpose: The City and County of Honolulu will construct a 58-unit three-story affordable rental housing project using factory produced modular components. Each studio unit will include a bathroom and kitchen and there will be the required number of ADA compliant units. The building will be for individuals or couples at or below 50% area median income (AMI) published by the Housing and Urban Development. The building amenities will include a commercial kitchen, dining room, counseling room, and an office for a third party property manager. The housing project will result in an increase of affordable housing inventory.

The Department of Land Management is committed to allowing public testimony.

For those wishing to present oral testimony, please register by completing a speaker registration form on-site on the day of the meeting. Persons not registered to speak should raise their hands at the time public testimony is invited, and they will be given an opportunity to speak following oral testimony by any registered speakers. Speaking time will be limited to two minutes.

Written testimony may be emailed to Bijun Huang at bhuang@honolulu.gov or given to the City presenter on the day of the meeting, for distribution at the meeting. Ten (10) copies are requested if written testimony is submitted on-site on the day of the meeting. If submitted, written testimonies, including testifier’s address, email address, and phone number, may be posted on the Department’s webpage.
