POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

Communication Access Specialist

Disability and Communication Access Board

The Disability and Communication Access Board (DCAB) is seeking applications for the position of Communication Access Specialist. To oversee the communication access program for persons with disabilities, and the statewide American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter credentialing program, as required by Chapter 348F, HRS, and Chapter 11-218, HAR; to provide technical assistance, public education, community outreach on laws that require communication access; conduct reviews, research and analysis of laws and rules that impact persons with disabilities; and staff the DCAB Standing Committee on Communication Access.

Min. reqmts: Bachelor’s Degree from accredited college or university in human services, public policy or administration. Master’s Degree preferred. Two years in program development and/or administration. Fluency or strong knowledge of ASL and credentialing of ASL interpreters.

State position exempt from civil service. Salary commensurate with experience.
