Traffic Schedule No. 2019-4
TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES
IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROVISIONS OF THE REVISED ORDINANCES OF HONOLULU 1990 (ROH), AS AMENDED, THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION SERVICES, CITY AND COUNTY OF HONOLULU, HEREBY ESTABLISHES TRAFFIC SCHEDULE NO. 2019-4 TO AMEND SCHEDULE III OF SECTION 15-6.3 ESTABLISHING RIGHT/LEFT TURN ON RED; SCHEDULE V OF SECTION 15-7.2(b)(3) ESTABLISHING SPEED LIMIT–25 MPH; SCHEDULE XIV OF SECTION 15-11.3 ESTABLISHING STOP INTERSECTIONS; SCHEDULE XXI OF SECTION 15-13.9(a)(8) ESTABLISHING TOW ZONES–SPECIFIED TIMES; SCHEDULE XXII OF SECTION 15-14.5(a) ESTABLISHING PROHIBITED PARKING CERTAIN AREAS; SCHEDULE XXV OF SECTION 15-15.3(d) ESTABLISHING OFFICIAL BUS STOPS; SCHEDULE XXXIV OF SECTION 15-18.3(c) ESTABLISHING BICYCLE LANES; SCHEDULE XXXVIII OF SECTION 15-24.17 ESTABLISHING MISCELLANEOUS TRAFFIC CONTROLS.
Section 1. Chapter 15 of the ROH 1990, as amended, is hereby further amended in the following particulars:
a. By amending Schedule III of Sec. 15-6.3 establishing right/left turn on red in the following particulars:
1. By adding thereto the following item:
“Hamakua-Kailua. No right turn from Hamakua Dr. into Kailua Rd. in the makai direction.”
2. By deleting therefrom the following items:
“Hamakua-Keolu. No right turn from Keolu Dr. into Hamakua Dr. in the mauka direction.”
“Hamakua-Keolu. No right turn from Hamakua Dr. into Keolu Dr. in the Waimanalo direction.”
b. By amending Schedule V of Sec. 15-7.2(b)(3) establishing speed limit–25 mph by adding thereto the following items:
“Alaloa St., for its entire length.”
“Waikalani Dr., for its entire length.”
c. By amending Schedule XIV of Sec. 15-11.3 establishing stop intersections in the following particulars:
1. By adding thereto the following items:
“Aoloa St (private portion)-Hamakua Dr. Traffic on Aoloa St. (private portion) shall stop before entering Hamakua Dr.”
“Kaamilo St-Aiea Heights Dr. Traffic on Kaamilo St. shall stop before entering Aiea Heights Dr.”
“Kanikani Pl-Aheahe Ave. Traffic on Kanikani Pl. shall stop before entering Aheahe Ave.”
2. By amending thereto the following item:
Kupuohi St-Kupuna Lp (makai intersection). Traffic on Kupuohi St. shall stop before entering Kupuna Lp. (makai intersection); to read:
“Kupuohi St-Kupuna Lp (eastern most intersection). Traffic on Kupuohi St. shall stop before entering Kupuna Lp. (eastern most intersection).”
d. By amending Schedule XXI of Sec. 15-13.9(a)(8) establishing tow zones–specified times by deleting therefrom the following item:
“Hamakua Dr., mauka side, distance approximately 755′ Makapuu direction from a point approximately 70′ Makapuu of the Makapuu curb prolongation of Kailua Rd., 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., Monday to Friday except Saturdays, Sundays and State holidays.”
e. By amending Schedule XXII of Sec. 15-14.5(a) establishing prohibited parking certain areas in the following particulars:
1. By adding thereto the following items:
“Hamakua Dr., makai side, distance 1000′ Kahuku direction from a point 60′ Kahuku of the Kahuku curb prolongation of Akoakoa St.”
“Hamakua Dr., makai side, Kahuku direction from a point 100′ Makapuu of the Makapuu curb prolongation of Aoloa St. to Hahani St., except for portion covered under Schedule 25.”
“Hamakua Dr., makai side, Kahuku direction, from a point 200′ Makapuu of the Makapuu curb prolongtion of Hahani St. to Kailua Rd.”
“Hamakua Dr., mauka side, Makapuu direction, from Kailua Rd. to a point 250′ Makapuu of the Makapuu curb prolongation of Hekili St.”
“Hamakua Dr., mauka side, Makapuu direction, from a point 120′ Kahuku of the Kahuku curb prolongation of Hahani St. to a point 100′ Makapuu of the Makapuu curb prolongation of Aoloa St., except for portion covered under Schedule 25.”
“Hamakua Dr., mauka side, distance 1030′ Makapuu direction, from a point 190′ Makapuu of the Makapuu curb prolongation of Aoloa St.”
“Hamakua Dr., mauka side, Makapuu direction, from a point 155′ Makapuu of the Makapuu curb prolongation of Akoakoa St. to Keolu Dr.”
“Paionia Pl., within its turnaround area.”
“Varsity Cir., Koko Head side, distance 175′ mauka /Koko Head direction from the mauka curb prolongation of Kolo Pl.”
“Varsity Pl., Koko Head side, between the mauka edge of H-1 Freeway, Varsity Pl. underpass to the mauka curb prolongation of Kolo Pl.”
“Waikalani Dr., within the undefined turnaround area which commences from a point approximately 380′ north of the northern curb prolongation of Waikalani Pl.”
“Waikalani Pl., within its turnaround area.”
2. By amending thereto the following item:
Makiki St., Ewa side, distance 70′ makai direction from the makai curb prolongation of Nehoa St.; to read:
“Makiki St., Ewa side, distance 88′ makai direction from the makai curb prolongation of Nehoa St.”
3. By deleting therefrom the following items:
“Hamakua Dr., makai side, commencing from a point 105′ Kahuku of the Kahuku curb prolongation of Akoakoa St. to Hahani St.”
“Hamakua Dr., makai side, between Hekili St. and Kailua Rd., distance 530′.”
“Hamakua Dr., makai side, distance 205′ Makapuu direction from the Makapuu curb prolongation of Hekili St.”
“Hamakua Dr., mauka side, disance 2010′ Makapuu direction commencing from a point 120′ Kahuku of Kahuku curb prolongation of Hahani St.”
“Hamakua Dr., mauka side, distance approximately 70′ Makapuu direction from the Makapuu curb prolongation of Kailua Rd.”
“Hamakua Dr., mauka side, distance 140′ Makapuu direction from a point 52′ Kahuku of the Kahuku curb prolongation of Hekili St.”
f. By amending Schedule XXV of Sec. 15-15.3(d) establishing official bus stops by amending thereto the following item:
Date St., mauka side, distance 150′ Koko Head direction from a point 8′ Koko Head of the Koko Head curb prolongation of Ekela Ave.; to read:
“Date St., mauka side, distance 130′ Koko Head direction from point 8′ Koko Head of the Koko Head curb prolongation of Ekela Ave.”
g. By amending Schedule XXXIV of Sec. 15-18.3(c) establishing bicycle lanes by adding thereto the following items:
“Varsity Cir., Ewa side between Kolo Pl. and Lower Campus Rd.”
“Varsity Pl., Ewa side, between the mauka edge H-1 Freeway, Varsity Pl. underpass to the mauka curb prolongation of Kolo Pl.”
h. By amending Schedule XXXVIII of Sec. 15-24.17 establishing miscellaneous traffic controls by deleting therefrom the following item:
“Hamakua Dr., Kahuku bound traffic in the mauka most lane must turn right at Kailua Rd.”
Section 2. This schedule is hereby attached to and made a part of Article VI hereof and shall take effect ten (10) working days after its publication.
