Insurance Examiner III
This supervisory position is responsible for overseeing a team performing financial analysis and monitoring regulatory compliance of domestic insurers. The responsibilities include directing, managing and coaching financial analysis staff; conducting in-depth review of the work of staff; and implementing procedures to improve the efficiency of financial analyses and the effectiveness of financial surveillance. This position assists the Chief Examiner in developing policy and procedures, implementing the National Association of Insurance Commissioners financial regulation guidelines and accreditation requirements, participating in legislative review, and coordinating activities with other state regulators and counterparts.
Minimum Qualification Requirement:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with at least 12 semester credit hours in accounting and/or auditing. Desired coursework includes accounting, or finance, economics, business administration and actuarial science.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred but not required. However, the obtainment of the Certified Financial Examiner (CFE) designation by Society of Financial Examiners is a condition of continuing employment.
