NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Pursuant to Sections 91-3 and 92-41, Hawaii Revised Statutes, notice is hereby given that the Land Use Commission (LUC), Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism (DBEDT), State of Hawaii, will hold a series of public hearings on the dates and locations shown below to consider proposed amendments to Chapter 15-15, Hawai`i Administrative Rules, Land Use Commission.”

These amendments are intended to clarify existing procedural rules and to conform to requirements imposed by Act 129, Session Laws of Hawai`i (SLH), 2017; Act 48, SLH 2016; Act 286, SLH 2012; Act 181, SLH 2011; Supreme Court decisions and to align the rules with State sustainability goals.

Public hearings will be held on:

Kauai – at 10 a.m., December 4, 2018 at the Moikeha Building, Meeting Room 2A/2B, 4444 Rice Street, Lihue, Hawai`i 96766

Oahu – at 10 a.m., December 5, 2018 at the State of Hawaii, Land Use Commission Conference Room 405, 4th Floor, Leiopapa A Kamehameha
235 South Beretania Street, Honolulu, Hawai`i 96813

Hawai`i (Hilo) – at 10 a.m., December 6, 2018, Hilo State Office Building, Conference Room 109A, 75 Aupuni Street, Hilo, Hawai`i 96720

Maui – at 11 a.m., December 12, 2018 at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center, One Cameron Way, Kahului, Maui, Hawai`i 96732

All interested persons are invited to attend the hearing and state their views relative to the proposed rule amendments either orally or in writing. All written and oral submissions will be fully considered. Comments or testimony will be restricted solely to the proposed amendment and not to the benefits/disadvantages of the underlying program. If written testimony is presented, it is strongly encouraged that five copies be made available to the presiding officer seven days before the hearing to:

Copies of testimony or comments may also be provided to the presiding officer at the public hearing.

Copies of the proposed amendments are available for review at the Land Use Commission office located at 235 S. Beretania St., Room 406, during regular business days and hours between 7:45 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Copies are also available and may be downloaded free of charge from the LUC web site at http://luc.hawaii.gov. Copies of the proposed rules may also be mailed to any interested person upon advance payment of the following copying and postage cost:
