NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
HANA ADVISORY COMMITTEE TO THE
MAUI PLANNING COMMISSION

The Hana Advisory Committee to the Maui Planning Commission of the County of Maui hereby gives notice that it will conduct a public hearing on October 29, 2018, commencing at 3:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as is practicable, at Hana High and Elementary School Cafeteria, 4111 Hana Highway, Hana, Island of Maui on the following:

SPECIAL MANAGEMENT AREA (SMA) USE PERMIT

1. MR. GARY STICE and HANA BEACHFRONT ASSOCIATES requesting a Special Management Area (SMA) Use Permit in order to build two (2) single family residences and related improvements that are located outside of the shoreline setback area on 1.478 acres of land in the Interim District at 177 Haneoo Road, TMK: (2) 1-4-008: 001, Hana, Island of Maui. One residence is planned to be a three (3) bedroom single family residence, totaling 2,500 square feet (1,850 square foot house and 650 square foot covered lanai), and the other residence is planned to be a two (2) bedroom, single family residence totaling 1,600 square foot (1,200 square foot house with a 400 square foot lanai)

The subject hearing will be conducted in accordance with the Hawaii Revised Statutes, the Maui County Code, and the Rules of the Maui Planning Commission. Information pertaining to the subject application may be obtained from the Maui County Department of Planning, 2200 Main Street, Suite 619, Wailuku, Maui.

Petitions to intervene shall be in conformity with Section 12-201-20 of the Rules of Practice and Procedure for the Maui Planning Commission and shall be filed with the commission and served upon the applicant no less than ten (10) days before the first public hearing date. Filing of all documents to the commission is c/o the Maui County Department of Planning, 2200 Main Street, Suite 315, Wailuku, Maui, Hawaii 96793. The deadline for the filing of a timely Petition to Intervene is October 15, 2018 at 4:30 p.m.

All testimony regarding the subject application may be filed prior to the date of the hearing by providing 15 copies of said written testimony to the Department of Planning or may be presented at the time of the hearing.
