DEPARTMENT OF PLANNING AND PERMITTING
PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN of a public hearing to be held by the Department of Planning and Permitting of the City and County of Honolulu for the purpose of adopting Rules Relating to the 201H Affordable Housing Program. The hearing will be held at the following time and location:

Time: 10:30 a.m.
Place: Mission Memorial Conference Room, Mission Memorial Building,
550 South King Street, Honolulu, Hawaii

PURPOSE:

The purpose is to adopt Rules Relating to the 201H Affordable Housing Program pursuant to the Hawaii Administrative Procedure Act, Chapter 91, Hawaii Revised Statutes, as amended ("HRS"). They are intended to implement Section 46-15.1, HRS, which grants the same housing powers to the City and County of Honolulu as those granted to the State of Hawaii Housing Finance and Development Corporation for the purpose of developing, constructing, and providing low-and moderate-income housing pursuant to Chapter 201H, HRS. Projects developed under these rules shall provide housing of which at least 51 percent of the dwelling units will be affordable to low-and moderate-income households.

Copies of the rules relating to the 201H Affordable Housing Program are available free of charge at http://www.honoluludpp.org/Portals/0/ LandUsePermitsDivision/201H%20Draft%20Administrative%20Rules.pdf or may be reviewed or obtained at the Department of Planning and Permitting, 7th Floor, Frank F. Fasi Municipal Building, 650 South King Street, Honolulu, Hawaii 96813, during normal business hours (7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday thru Friday). Please call 768-8000, or email info@honolulu.dpp.org to request mailing of rules, which shall be subject to payment of coping and postage fees.

All interested persons are invited to attend and submit data, views or arguments with respect to the proposed rules, either orally or in writing. All written and oral submissions will be fully considered. Those persons desiring to testify may register prior to the public hearing at the public hearing site and are encouraged to submit one copy of their testimony in writing.

Attendance at the public hearing is not necessary to submit testimony. Written testimony may be faxed (808-768-4663) or mailed (650 South King Street, 7th Floor, Honolulu, Hawaii, 96813) to the Department prior to the public hearing and will be considered in the evaluation of the request.
