NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

City & County of Honolulu
Pursuant to the Revised Charter of the City & County of Honolulu 1973 (2017 Edition), Section 6-1803, the Director of the Department of Land Management is to conduct a public hearing to determine whether a transaction or activity relating to City real property serves the public interest. Public Notice is hereby provided for the following proposed transaction affecting City property:
Property: Tax Map Key: (1) 2-1-050:068, 860 Halekauwila St., Honolulu, HI 96813, Area: 2,013 sq ft.
Proposed Transaction: Cancellation of an existing lease to the State Housing Finance and Development Corporation (HFDC) and issuance of a new 75 year lease to the State Hawaii Housing Finance & Development Corporation (HHFDC), as successor-in-interest to HFDC.
Purpose: The City’s property was leased to the State to incorporate 2,013 square feet to the State’s property to construct Kauhale Kakaako Affordable Rental Housing. This transaction is to issue a new lease to provide a longer lease term for financing purposes and sublease of the project to a new lessee.

The Department of Land Management is committed to allowing public testimony.
For those wishing to present oral testimony on the items listed in the agenda, please register by completing a speaker registration form on-site on the day of the meeting. Persons not registered to speak on an agenda item should raise their hands at the time public testimony is invited or at the time a particular agenda item is announced, and they will be given an opportunity to speak following oral testimony by any registered speakers. Speaking time will be limited to two minutes.
Written testimony may be emailed to Anites Lagpacan at alagpacan@honolulu.gov or to the day of the meeting, for distribution at the meeting. Ten (10) copies are requested if written testimony is submitted on-site on the day of the meeting. If submitted, written testimonies, including testifier’s address, email address, and phone number, may be posted on the Department’s webpage.
