Notice of Funding Availability
NATIONAL HOUSING TRUST FUND
HOUSING OPPORTUNITIES FOR PERSONS WITH AIDS
The City and County of Honolulu, through its Department of Community Services, is soliciting applications from qualified nonprofit agencies for the following two programs:
1. NATIONAL HOUSING TRUST FUND (NHTF) PROGRAM, authorized by Title I of the Housing and Economic Recovery Act of 2008, Section 1131. Approximately $1,350,000 in funding, subject to availability, is anticipated to be available for the acquisition, rehabilitation, and construction of new affordable housing for households earning 30 percent or less of Honolulu’s Area Median Family Income.
2. HOUSING OPPORTUNITIES FOR PERSONS WITH AIDS (HOPWA) PROGRAM, authorized by the AIDS Housing Opportunity Act (43 U.S.C. §12901). Approximately $49,561 in funding for Grant Agreement Year 2019, subject to availability, is anticipated to be available for supportive services which help low- income persons with HIV/AIDS and their families remain stably housed.
Interested agencies may pick up the Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) packet at the Department of Community Services, 925 Dillingham Boulevard, Suite 200, Honolulu, Hawaii. Agencies may also request an electronic version of the NOFA via an email to Leesa Steadman at leesa.steadman@honolulu.gov.
Applications must be submitted to the Department of Community Services, Kapalama Hale, 925 Dillingham Boulevard, Suite 200, Honolulu, Hawaii by 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 23, 2018.
