Description: Analyzes and evaluates transactions in the Juvenile Justice Information System, a statewide data system that houses information from all police departments, prosecutors, family court, and the Hawaii Youth Correctional Facility, to ensure that the data is accurate, timely, and complete. Researches and diagnoses moderately complex software problems, recommends solutions, and determines when program requirements have been met. Makes policy recommendations to reduce input errors. Summarizes and analyzes errors to isolate patterns that can be corrected automatically by the JJIS programs.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college. At least one year of work experience with users of a large scale information system. Some work experience in DB2, WebSphere, SQL, browser and technologies and automated testing tools is desirable.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of information systems development methodology, computer applications/software, working knowledge of relational database principles; understanding of the juvenile justice system and applicable state and federal juvenile justice laws; applicable state and county standards for information systems. Good writing and oral skills. Ability to analyze and identify problems and solutions; organize and prioritize work assignments; understand and apply procurement procedures, principles of quality assurance, and software engineering principles; and work on multiple projects with a sharp attention to detail.
Salary range: $56,064 to $57,744 annually, pending qualifications of applicant.
